Designer Jason Wu has once again impressed with his stunning clothing creations. For New York Fashion Week, Wu teamed up with 82-year-old Taiwanese calligrapher Tong Yang-Tze for his Spring 2025 collection.
Set against a striking black backdrop in Hudson Yards, models walked the runway in abstract, textural garments that were truly innovative. The collection mirrored current times with unfinished hems and deconstructed silhouettes, symbolizing flexibility and new directions.
Inspired by Yang-Tze’s large-scale black cursive calligraphy, Wu’s collection showcased free-form writing on the outfits, complemented by sheer fabrics and pleats, adding a rebellious touch. Known for his attention to detail and love for simplicity, Wu included clean lines and soft pastel colors, paired with flatform sandals.
The collection featured brown, a key color transitioning from fall into Spring 2025, with oversized textured suits and avant-garde maxi dresses. Additionally, black trench coats with white writing created a striking contrast in his Spring lineup. This season, Wu moved beyond traditional techniques, keeping pace with modern trends.
As a New York-based artist, Wu has built a strong reputation over the years, proving his line’s sustainability in a fast-changing market. His unique style and bold approach highlight his exceptional talent and creative vision.
